Tommy Perkins is a prime example of how one can use his/her WyoTech education for the long-term after graduation!  From Colonial Beach, Virginia, Tommy graduated back in 2004 from the Collision and Refinishing, Street Rod, and Trim and Upholstery programs at WyoTech.  Drawn to WyoTech by his love of custom cars and hot rods, he said that WyoTech really helped to build his confidence. “What I learned gave me the confidence that if you work hard and focus on your talent, you can really make your dreams a reality and make a living doing what you love.”  He said that taking Trim and Upholstery Led him to having his designs and work featured on the floors of SEMA, in TV shows, magazines, and newspapers.  “Some of my designs and work has been displayed by the House of Representatives and the United States Capital for the leaders of our nation to enjoy.”  Tommy says that through his education, he has had a chance to work on projects for Presidential inaugurations and Presidential funerals.  He tells WyoTech students to “Be like a woodpecker in a petrified forest- just stay busy and look for opportunities!”  He reminds them to appreciate the skills that they have and that they will learn, and to be open to using them in all aspects of life and occupations.
